Target
Streami operates GOPAX, a Korean won-market crypto exchange that also ran the GoFi deposit product. GoFi principal and interest payments were suspended in November 2022 in the aftermath of the FTX collapse.
Deal rationale
GOPAX said on February 3, 2023 that it would receive investment from Binance through its Industry Recovery Initiative (IRI), with the funds reportedly earmarked to repay suspended GoFi deposits. Reports said CEO Lee Jun-haeng sold his entire 41.2% stake to Binance, and Binance promised to compensate GoFi customers. No official statement of Binance's rationale was found in the coverage; CEO Changpeng Zhao posted and then deleted a tweet about the acquisition. According to Kyunghyang Shinmun, the FIU accepted the executive-change filing on October 15, 2025.
