Target

Jungwon, founded in 2011 by CEO Kim Sung-hoon, makes and sells hygiene products including the Secret Day sanitary pad brand and the Super Daddy and Sense baby/household brands (diapers, wet wipes), with its own domestic production.

Deal rationale

According to The Bell, Ascent PE cited strong brand recognition in pads, diapers and wipes, domestic in-house manufacturing and an existing online channel. Post-deal plans reported include offline expansion into discount stores and exports to Southeast Asia. Sellers are founder-CEO Kim Sung-hoon and Monalisa (controlled by Morgan Stanley PE since 2020); Ascent was named preferred bidder in October 2022.
