Target
Interpark Commerce is an e-commerce platform spun off from Interpark (a Yanolja affiliate) comprising its shopping and book businesses, operating the Interpark Shopping and Interpark Books apps with about 150 employees.
Deal rationale
Qoo10 acquired all shares and control, saying its global capabilities would provide a new growth base for Interpark Commerce, with plans for faster delivery of directly sourced overseas goods and connecting consumers and sellers across 24 countries. Metro reported the industry view that CEO Ku Young-bae's serial acquisitions were groundwork for a Nasdaq listing. Yanolja/Interpark gave no stated rationale. Newsis (2024-07-31) reported Yanolja had received only KRW 23.4 billion (12.5%) of the KRW 187 billion price.
