Target
DY Polymer (founded 2013, Goryeong, Gyeongbuk) was the first Korean company to produce recycled pellets from waste PET bottles; DY Indus (founded 2016) produces flakes from crushed and washed PET bottles.
Deal rationale
SK Ecoplant said it aims to localize top-grade waste plastic flakes and pellets, which are heavily imported, and build a circular model across the value chain (Aju). It planned facility investment, digital transformation, modernization, impurity-removal equipment and bottle-to-bottle cooperation with sorting companies and beverage makers.
